Even though Marietta lost the first time it played Lassiter, the Blue Devils were convinced they were the better team. Maybe not. Marietta got down by 19 points in the second quarter, and despite a furious comeback, the Devils were unable to pull it out, losing 77-74. In the second quarter, Marietta didn’t look better than anyone. But the resilient Blue Devils hung around long enough to wait for Lassiter to cool off.
