I-75 South at Delk Road Closed

Just after 3:30 p.m. today, a tractor-trailer crashed into a box truck, which crashed into a passenger car, said Officer David Baldwin, the spokesman for the Marietta Police Department.

All lanes of Interstate 75 South at Delk Road will be closed for the next two hours due to a vehicle accident, and the the Georgia State Patrol is advising afternoon and evening commuters to use alternate routes. Just after 3:30 p.m. today, a tractor-trailer crashed into a box truck, which crashed into a passenger car, said Officer David Baldwin, the spokesman for the Marietta Police Department. The tractor-trailer is on its side. "All of those cars, because of the size, are blocking the entire interstate," he said. "There's no serious injuries. Only minor injuries involved." Davidson Road to Willow Point Pkwy Willow Point Pkwy to Timber Ridge Road Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass GDOT I-285 Top-End Resurfacing Project Expect delays as Georgia DOT continues working on a $56 million resurfacing project on I-285. Crews will resurface 10 miles of I-285 between Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County and Ashford Dunwoody Road in DeKalb County. Most work will take place nights and weekends. Portion of Canton Road to Close for Bridge Replacement

One of the oldest bridges in Marietta will be replaced. Construction will begin in April.

Canton Road will be closed at Highway 41 in mid-April for eight months while workers replace that bridge and the CSX railroad bridge and realign the roadway. "The bridge is being replaced partly because of the low sufficiency rating determined by GDOT bridge inspections," city of Marietta Public Works director Dan Conn said in a press release. "While the bridge is not currently dangerous, it is one of the oldest we have in the city and nearing the end of its safe and useful life." "If you're familiar with the old bridge structure, it was very low and you can see where tractor trailers have hit it," Conn said in the release.
