A Dallas woman has been arrested in connection with a robbery and high-speed chase that forced authorities this afternoon to temporarily shut down Interstate 75 in both directions. About 10:54 a.m. today, 39-year-old Ancely Faye Green walked into the Acworth SunTrust Bank at 1755 Mars Hill Rd., claimed in a note that she had a bomb and demanded money, said Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department. When she received an undisclosed amount of cash, she drove away from the bank in a black vehicle. Officers spotted her and tried to initiate a traffic stop. An Atlanta man considered armed and dangerous is wanted by the FBI for a series of armed robberies, including two in Cobb. Michael Jerome Winfield, 46, is accused of multiple armed robberies at metro Atlanta locations and most recently a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo in Tucker, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. In Cobb, Winfield is accused of robbing two gas stations at gunpoint. He reportedly stole several cartons of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash in an armed robbery at the Walgreen’s off South Marietta Parkway around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 8. Smyrna is charging Winfield in connection with a Feb. 9 armed robbery at a BP gas station off Cobb Parkway. Winfield is also wanted by the Alpharetta Police Department for a Feb. 11…

The perpetrators entered the Waffle House and demanded money from the cash register, according to Cobb Police. The Cobb County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery, which occurred near the intersection of Hollydale Court and Red Berry Lane in Marietta on Jan. 4. According to investigators, a taxi cab driver for A-1 Taxi was dispatched to pick up a fare at a residence on Hollydale Court. When he arrived near the intersection of Red Berry Lane, two men got into the back seat while a third man approached the car on foot. As the man who was approaching the car got closer, he began demanding money from the driver. At the same time, one of the two men in the back seat produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. Cobb Police are searching for the perpetrator in an armed robbery at Krystals, 2929 Canton Rd. in Marietta, on Dec. 5. While the manager and other employees were cleaning the front counter an armed man entered the restaurant and demanded money from the safe. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the perpetrator fled from the business in an unknown direction, according to a press release from Cobb Police.

Cobb Police continue to search for a suspect who robbed a Cobb Walgreens store on Nov. 29. Cobb Police spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said that a white male approached the registers at the Walgreens location at 2464 Roswell Road, asking for merchandise behind the counters. When a Walgreens employee placed the items on the counter, the suspect opened a jacket to display a handgun, demanded the merchandise, and fled the store, Bowman said. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Cobb Police at 770-499-3945.
