3 in Custody After Milo's Bar Shooting

"All three suspects are pending transport to the Cobb County Jail where they will be processed and booked," Cobb Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Nancy Bodiford said. "They have no bond."

The alleged shooter wanted in connection with Sunday afternoon's murder inside Milo’s Bar and Grill surrendered to Cobb authorities earlier today, and two other suspects were apprehended this afternoon at an East Cobb apartment complex, the spokeswoman for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office said. At 3:30 p.m. today, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit arrested 36-year-old Trina Lesley Chatman and 48-year-old Joseph Ricky Hampton at the Bentley Manor Apartments, Cobb Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Nancy Bodiford said in a news release. Man Killed in Marietta Bar Shooting

A Sandy Springs resident was found shot on Sunday in the parking lot of Milo's Bar on Garrison Road. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital for emergency surgery but died later that morning.

The Marietta Police Department is investigating a murder that occurred inside Milo’s Bar, located at 188 Garrison Road.  At around 3 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, Marietta Police responded to a "person shot" call at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Sandy Springs resident Takilam Terrell in a parking lot, Marietta Detective Christopher Lindsey said in a press release.  Terrell was the victim of a gunshot wound. Terrell was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, according to the release. Terrell succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital later that morning. Marietta Shooting Suspect Tried to Flee Georgia

William Dennis Devore allegedly shot David Fouquart and Laniqua White at 1:20 a.m. Sunday inside a residence in the 1800 block of North Milford Creek Lane, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

A Marietta man accused of shooting two people early Sunday was arrested nearly 90 miles away in Franklin County. William Dennis Devore, 41, of Marietta, was trying to flee the state after allegedly shooting David Fouquart and Laniqua White at 1:20 a.m. Sunday inside a residence in the 1800 block of North Milford Creek Lane, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. Fouquart, 46, was shot in the head, side and rear with a .22 caliber handgun. White, 33, was shot in the head. One of the bullets entered near Fouquart's right eye and exited the top of his head, leaving a hole at the top of Fouquart's head, according to the warrant. Marietta Man Who Shot Himself Dies, Police Release ID

James Lamar Kemp, 46, shot himself in the head following a high-speed chase in Cartersville and Bartow County. Kemp's last known address was in Marietta.

The man who shot himself in the head during a high-speed chase has died, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Clark Millsap identified him as James Lamar Kemp, 46, whose last known address was in Marietta. Following an alleged physical domestic dispute at a home near Adairsville early Saturday morning, Kemp led responding deputies on a pursuit that ended on Interstate 75 in Cartersville, police say. He had allegedly kicked in his ex-wife's door. North of Cass-White Road, Kemp's vehicle struck a guard rail. Deputies found him slumped over the steering wheel with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Kemp was pronounced dead Sunday morning at Floyd Medical Center, where he had been in critical condition.

New Evidence in Marietta Teen’s Shooting Death

Jordan Russell Davis, 17, was killed in November outside a convenience store in Jacksonville, Fla.

The case surrounding the November shooting death of a Marietta teen could parallel that of a similar shooting that occurred last year in the same state. Jordan Russell Davis, 17, who split time at his mother’s home in Marietta and father’s home in Jacksonville, Fla., was shot and killed outside a Jacksonville convenience store on Nov. 23. Michael David Dunn, 45 at the time of Davis’ death, was arrested a day later. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday reported that Dunn—who faces charges of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder—is claiming self-defense, but police have not found the shotgun Dunn said had been pointed at him before he allegedly fired into the SUV that Davis and three others had been in at the time…

2 Dead in Marietta Shootings

A likely murder-suicide is being investigated in a residential area near Scufflegrit Road.

Update, 3:25 p.m. Marietta Police have identified the female victim as Kay Cornell Janus, 72, and the shooter as Henry Harlan Wooten, 70, of Acworth. According to Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin, Wooten went to Janus' home at 1510 Gateview Way this morning. Police said Janus and Wooten had been involved a long-term relationship, but the motive for the shootings is still under investigation. Police said Wooten apparently shot Janus in the garage of her home. He was found by police dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a cul-de-sac in the 1400 block of Gateview Way. Man Killed after Fleeing Gunman

The investigation revealed that the suspect, Patrick Burr, used to date the female resident at 113 Griggs Street. Burr arrived at the house and observed both Moses and his ex-girlfriend sitting in a car in the driveway of the house.

Marietta Police are investigating a murder involving an ex-boyfriend and another man. Marietta Police Officers responded to a report of a person shot at 113 Griggs Street at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.  When officers arrived they found the victim, Arthur Moses Jr, 24 of Marietta, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Patrick Burr, used to date the female resident at 113 Griggs Street.  Burr arrived at the house and observed both Moses and his ex-girlfriend sitting in a car in the driveway of the house.  Burr pulled out a pistol and began firing into the car, police said.  Both occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, but Burr was able to fatally shoot Moses before he could escape, police said.   …

Marietta Teen Shot, Killed in Florida

A man faces charges of murder and attempted murder following the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Russell Davis. Davis' funeral is set for Saturday in Marietta.

Funeral arrangements have been set for a Marietta teen who was shot and killed Friday in Jacksonville, Fla., after an argument over loud music. According to the Orlando Sentinel, 17-year-old Jordan Russell Davis and several other teenagers were sitting in an SUV in a convenience store parking lot when 45-year-old Michael David Dunn and his girlfriend pulled into the store’s lot. Dunn reportedly asked the teens to turn down the music playing in their vehicle. After he and Davis exchanged words, Dunn shot Davis eight or nine times, striking Davis twice, authorities said. Shooting Puts Marietta College on Lockdown

Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta was placed on lockdown following a shooting Tuesday night. The victim and perpetrator left the scene before police arrived.

A shooting at Southern Polytechnic State University left one man injured Tuesday night. The school was placed on lockdown around 6 p.m.  The shooting occurred in the parking lot near the engineering and technology building, according to Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin.  The victim, identified as Jason Moore, 23, a commuter student, and the suspect left prior to police arrival. Moore left to presumably get treatment for his injuries, Baldwin said.
