University Activity Center Open House Tuesday

Review recommendations for transportation and connectivity improvements, land use changes, a multi-use trail and a new university center.

Students, faculty and alumni of Life and Southern Polytechnic State universities, residents, and business and property owners are invited to comment on the draft plan for the Marietta University Enhancement Livable Centers Initiative study area. Attendees will have an opportunity to review recommendations for transportation and connectivity improvements, land use changes, a multi-use trail and a new university center. The purpose of the study is to create a redevelopment plan for Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway, increase visibility of Life and Southern Polytechnic State universities, and better connect the universities with the surrounding community. Video: Marietta University Enhancement District Study

The purpose of the study is to develop a redevelopment plan for Cobb and South Marietta Parkways, increase visibility of Life and Southern Polytechnic State universities and help to connect the universities with the surrounding community.

The city of Marietta, Southern Polytechnic State University and Life University have partnered to examine ways to make the universities more visible along Cobb Parkway, focus on redevelopment strategies and appropriate land uses along Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway. Marietta Gets Grant for Redevelopment, Transportation Study

The study will examine ways to redevelop Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway, increase visibility of SPSU and Life University and help connect the universities with the surrounding community.

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) recently awarded the city of Marietta, Southern Polytechnic State and Life universities an $80,000 grant through the Livable Centers Initiative program (LCI). The grant is to help fund a study of properties near Southern Polytechnic State and Life universities that will examine ways to redevelop Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway, increase visibility of the campuses and help to connect the universities with the surrounding community.
