Marietta Waffle House Robbed

The Cobb County Police Department seeks the public's assistance.

Robbers, one of them armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, hit the Waffle House at 3635 Austell Rd. this morning, and the Cobb County Police Department needs help locating them. Just before 2:30 a.m., two black men with blue bandanas covering their faces entered the restaurant and demanded that the cashier open the cash register, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and a small safe directly below the register before fleeing from the Waffle House in opposite directions, he said. The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating an aggravated assault and armed robbery that occurred at a Waffle House on Austell Road in Marietta on Thursday.

The perpetrators entered the Waffle House and demanded money from the cash register, according to Cobb Police. The perpetrators received an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the business on foot in an unknown direction of travel. One of the perpetrators is described as a black male 5’10-5’11’ tall with a slender build and a dark complexion. The Atlanta Police Department is investigating allegations that Waffle House CEO Joe W. Rogers Jr. repeatedly forced an Acworth woman to perform sex acts on him during her time as Rogers' personal assistant. Mye Brindle worked out of Rogers' Buckhead home as his assistant from 2003 until May 2012. It was at that Chatham Road home that the 43-year-old Acworth single mother said most of the alleged acts occurred, according to an Atlanta Police incident report.
