Have you finalized summer plans for the kids? If not, head over to the Cobb Civic Center this Thursday. With the 2012-13 school year winding down, the Cobb Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is hosting an expo from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to provide details about its day camps, art camps, church camps, overnight camps, performing arts programs and tennis camps. 1. Friday, Oct. 5: Final First Friday Art Walk: The final Art Walk of the season takes place on Marietta Square from 5 to 9 p.m. 2. Saturday, Oct. 6: 19th annual Habitat Road Race—5K, 1 mile and Tot Trot: The proceeds from the race will be used to build Mt. Bethel’s 32nd Habitat for Humanity house. The post race celebration will include refreshments, a dj, food, vendor exhibits, door prizes and fun for kids. The race starts at 8 a.m.; admission is $20 by Oct. 3 and $25 after Oct. 3.

The bluegrass revival Smoke on the Mountain, starring members of the original Theatre in the Square cast, will be presented by the Atlanta Lyric Theatre from July 26 through Aug. 5 at the Strand Theatre.
