When the cast of How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying takes the stage Friday night, it will be the culmination of several months of behind-the-scenes drama mirroring the struggles of today’s business executives. This group of teens began rehearsals five months ago as part of Cobb Children's Theatre. Despite major roadblocks, including a new director, a new venue, major illnesses and the main character bowing out a week before showtime, the production will go on. The cast and their parents have proven that to succeed, whether in business, in theater or any endeavor, you must first have perseverance, according to the Young Actors Playhouse. Cobb Children's Theatre presented Honk! Friday and Saturday at the Cobb Civic Center's Jennie T. Anderson Theatre. The musical was performed by high school and middle school students. Honk! is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, incorporating a message of tolerance. The musical features Ugly, a duckling who is rejected by everyone but his mother, Ida; a sly tomcat who wants to eat Ugly; and other barnyard creatures.
