The Cobb Business-to-Business Expo, a free event that drew more than 1,600 people in 2012, is scheduled for 3 p.m. May 16 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. This year, the expo will feature former Atlanta Braves player Javy Lopez, who will sign autographs in the LOUD Security Systems booth. LOUD is just one of more than 150 local businesses that will showcase their products and services at the expo. Other exhibitors include Keep it in Cobb, which encourages residents to buy local. The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) will assist Diversity Hiring with a career expo in Cobb County Wednesday, Jan. 23. The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria Centre, located at Two Galleria Parkway near Marietta. The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing present and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. 1. Friday, Oct. 5: Final First Friday Art Walk: The final Art Walk of the season takes place on Marietta Square from 5 to 9 p.m. 2. Saturday, Oct. 6: 19th annual Habitat Road Race—5K, 1 mile and Tot Trot: The proceeds from the race will be used to build Mt. Bethel’s 32nd Habitat for Humanity house. The YWCA of Northwest Georgia will honor 15 Cobb County women at its 27th annual Tribute to Woman of Achievement on Friday. The women honored have made extraordinary contributions to family, community, charity and their professions, according to a press release.
