Marietta Food Scores: Le Cafe Crepe, Deep South BBQ

Burger King, Deep South BBQ, Hot Wok Chinese Restaurant, Le Cafe Crepe, Paloma Food, Whitcher St. Cafe, Krispy Kreme and more—take a look at the Marietta Food Scores.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from a best possible score of 100. A sample inspection form is attached. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points. Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70. New Krispy Kreme County Fair-Inspired Fare

What is your favorite Marietta doughnut shop? Have you tried Krispy Kreme's new Caramel Apple Cake or Cotton Candy Doughnuts?

Krispy Kreme is taking your tastebuds on a trip to the county fair with four new blue ribbon doughnuts and beverages.   The new Caramel Apple Cake Doughnut and Cotton Candy Doughnut and the Krispy Kreme Frozen Cotton Candy Chiller and Caramel Latte are available through Sept. 30 at participating Krispy Kreme US and Canada locations.  “County fairs are a fall tradition, and caramel apple and cotton candy are always popular fair fare,” said Ron Rupocinski, Krispy Kreme Corporate Chef, in a news release. “The caramel apple cake doughnut is rich and decadent, and the new cotton candy doughnut is a sweet and fluffy delight.” The Cotton Candy Doughnut is a glazed doughnut dipped in blue cotton candy sugar. Cops on Marietta Doughnut Shop for Special Olympics

Police officers from area law enforcement departments will take to the roofs of Krispy Kreme stores across the state to raise awareness and money for Special Olympics Georgia’s Athletes.

Yes, we all know the stereotype about finding cops in doughnut shops. But how about cops on doughnut shops? This weekend, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics have partnered to raise awareness and money for Special Olympics Georgia’s Athletes. Police officers from area law enforcement departments will take to the roofs of Krispy Kreme stores across the state to raise money from customers for the cause. Officers will eat, sleep, play and otherwise entertain patrons from 6 a.m. June 8 through 6 p.m. June 10. Sweet: Friday Is National Donut Day

Cobb area shops are handing out free donuts Friday.

It seems like there is a special day for just about everything these days and the donut is no exception. National Donut Day is Friday and in honor of their big day, donut shops across the nation—including many in Cobb County—will hand out free donuts to customers. Dunkin' Donuts is on board with the holiday. For a free donut, you'll need to purchase a beverage (hot or cold), according to their "Behind the Beans" blog. You might want to do this in the morning. They say that they'll hand out one free donut of your choice "while supplies last." (Could Dunkin' Donuts ever really run out of donuts?) Find your nearest store using their restaurant locator.
