Patch welcomes former Celtics star Larry Bird to our conversation! Great to have you. Will other NBA players be joining our little group? Dennis Rodman? Shaq? We can only hope.

ReplyBrad - I beg to differ. Patch is a real news source, not a fake one, that's for sure. The news reported on Patch (fires, crime, elections, town meeting results, decision by boards and commissions) is all real. The information is reported in an online news format, different from what many are accustomed to seeing in the past. Patch is for the community and enables folks to post their own events, announcements and photos. And yes, they can post comments, as long as it abides by the Patch Terms of Use and at the discretion of the editor.

We don't have many details, but it appears to be a water rescue as in person in water.

Hi Fran - it doesn't seem so. Pem McNerney (Madison Patch editor) reported that no animals were allowed on the beach as of April 1. But other areas of the park which were designated (that's the key) for animals was OK. The beach restriction is only for the long summer. It changes back to allow dogs, horses on the beach in October.
