Second Girl Accuses Marietta Man of Molestation

In the Cobb County Adult Detention Center since May 30, Josue Alejandro Gomez faces new charges.

A Marietta man who allegedly molested a 6-year-old girl is now accused of making plans to run away to Mexico with a 13-year-old Marietta Middle School student.

Last July 28, Josue Alejandro Gomez allegedly took the teen from her home without parental consent and took her to his Allgood Road apartment with "the intentions of later running away to Mexico," according to an arrest warrant that was issued last week.

A few weeks after that incident, Gomez sent a text to the girl and encouraged her to skip school, police said. He allegedly picked her up from the school on Aug. 20, took her back to his residence and tried to have sex with her.

The girl resisted, police said.

Between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30, Gomez allegedly molested the 6-year-old girl "on multiple occasions and on multiple days," according to another warrant that was issued on May 30.

"The child ... said the accused told her not to tell," police said.

Gomez was arrested May 30 in connection with that incident. He has been in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond on charges of sexual battery and child molestation for the past 40 days.

He now faces charges that include interference with custody, enticing a child, sexual battery and child molestation.
