Final First Friday Art Walk of the Year

Held the fist Friday of the month, April through October, Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour through Marietta's diverse art scene.

The last First Friday Art Walk of the 2013 season takes place on Friday, Oct. 4, on Marietta Square.

“We are excited for the great turnout of artists and performers for this last event of the season,” said Donna Krueger, owner of dk Gallery on the Marietta Square. “The best thing about this event is that we offer art experiences for everyone from new artists just starting out, as well as award-winners. The community can come out and enjoy work by visual artists, performing artists and the beautiful backdrop for it all is the Historic Marietta Square where our community comes together.”

Held the fist Friday of the month, April through October, Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour through Marietta’s diverse art scene. Art galleries, museums, cultural venues, restaurants and boutiques host artists near their storefronts and are open 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

“It’s the best place to be on a Friday night! As an artist myself, I love being a part of the team that is creating this fun event that the local community has really come together to support," Shelley House, Art Walk Chairman, said.

Live music performances have been added to the event and can be found at the Tavern in the gARTen and other sidewalk locations throughout the Square.

Maps of the venues are available at each participating merchant, the Marietta Visitors Bureau, at the Art Walk signs throughout the Square, from the Art Walk Ambassadors and online.

The Tavern in the gARTen, a beer and wine garden, is the newest feature of the 6th Annual First Friday Art Walk. At the Tavern in the gARTen, guests can purchase cold beverages, sit and enjoy live music, and watch art come alive in Atherton Square.
