Frugal Family: Easter Egg Hunts, Baseball Games, Mini Golf and More

Celebrate Spring Break with these fun activities around Marietta. Whether you want to meet the Easter Bunny of check out Turner Field, deals can be found.

This week Frugal Family found some great free, or cheap, fun, family activities for toddlers to seniors. From two of Marietta’s largest annual Easter egg hunts to a free activity-packed day with the Braves at Turner Field, there is something for every age and taste, especially if your taste includes candy and hotdogs. 

And for those who are staying at home for Spring Break, Marietta offers great, inexpensive packages for mini-golf, go-karts, games and bowling that will make you feel like you are on vacation!

Friday, March 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Easter Egg Scramble at , 151 Manning Road, Marietta 30064. The free event is sponsored by the with plenty of candy and prizes for all. The hunt is divided into groups based on age: three and under, four to six, and seven to 10. After the hunt you can visit with the Easter Bunny for great photo opportunities.

Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Marietta Easter Egg Hunt at . The 2012 Marietta Easter Egg Hunt, Cobb’s largest egg hunt, features features children’s art activities, live entertainment, inflatables, concessions and more. You can also visit with the Easter Bunny and participate in the Mad Hatter contest. The Easter eggstravaganza egg hunt features different levels based on age groups with prizes at each level. The event is free.

Saturday, March 31 from 12 to 4 p.m. Open House at Turner Field. 755 Hank Aaron Dr., Atlanta 30315. 1-800-326-4000. Free parking in the Green Lot. The Braves are inviting fans to come out to Turner Field to have some fun, during an Open House event on Saturday, March 31. Free activities during the Open House include: Watch the Braves take on the Detroit Tigers at 1 pm on one of the world’s largest high definition scoreboards, BravesVision, in centerfield; Pitch and Hit in the game cages in Scout’s Alley; Visit the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame; Tour Turner Field—sit in the dugout and see the press box and broadcast booths; Run the Bases, weather permitting; The Heavy Hitters drumline and Tomahawk Team will be on hand to entertain fans in the Plaza.
